Recommendations, worked out at home

Modal suggests mods, modpacks and resource packs based on what you play, install and look at. It works all of that out on your PC: the activity it uses and the picks it makes never leave your machine. Hit New picks whenever you want something fresh.

Signing in

You sign in on Microsoft’s own sign-in page, so we never see or store your Microsoft password. The access tokens Microsoft issues are kept on your PC so that Modal can launch the game for you, and they are never sent to us.

When Modal goes online

Modal talks to Microsoft, Mojang, Modrinth, CurseForge, GitHub and the mod loader projects directly, never through us. Each of them receives what any website you visit would see, such as your IP address, along with the request itself, like the search you typed into Discover. They handle it under their own privacy policies.

Modal is not affiliated with any of these services, and we have no access to what they receive.

This website

  • It uses no cookies and no analytics.
  • It serves its own fonts and loads nothing from third parties, so your browser connects only to our hosting provider.
  • It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We keep no copy of it.
  • If you pause the animations, your browser remembers that choice in its own storage. It stays on your device.

If you write to us

We use your email address and message only to deal with your request. We don’t share them with anyone or use them for marketing, and we’ll delete them if you ask.

You’re in control

To remove everything Modal keeps on your PC, uninstall it and delete its data folder, which holds your instances, settings and sign-in information. Back up any worlds you want to keep first.

If you have a question about your data, or want us to delete your emails, write to us. If the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to you, you can also access, correct and delete your personal data and object to its processing, and you may complain to a data protection authority. In Hungary, that is the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH) (opens in a new tab).
